The NASCAR family lost a true friend. Jim touched the lives of everyone with whom he came in contact. He truly loved the sport.

There have been a lot of emotions over the last few days. Yes, I was very angry with Jim for a long time. But ultimately, he gave me time with my family that I never would have taken for myself. He was decidedly Old School, and he had the kind of connection from the past to the present that NASCAR needs these days. He will be missed!
