If you haven't had a chance to check out the book Driving with the Devil by Neal Thompson, do so as soon as possible! It's a tremendous look into the sport's earliest days, and features extensive looks into the lives and careers of men like Lloyd Seay, Roy Hall, Red Byron, Red Vogt and maybe most importantly, Raymond Parks. It's a must-have!

I haven't read that one yet. Thanks! I have Smokey's book. Possibly the most entertaining thing I've ever read! Wouldn't surprise me if it's all true too! He touches a little on Raymond and on Red and has high praise for them both.
