Just wanted to make sure folks know about this week's Petty Blue trivia contest ... it's another simple true or false, so here goes: After his really bad crash in a 1961 qualifying race at Daytona, Lee Petty never drove in another Grand National event. Seeing the still photos of the Petty/Beauchamp wreck is bad enough. And some of the up close video footage is bad too. But that long camera shot down the frontstretch and seeing the two cars leap the wall over turn 4 is just jaw-dropping. How either of them survived is beyond me - not to mention the lives spared of folks who could have easily been standing/parking near where the cars came to rest.
